我们的故事
In 2020, as the world revived from the grip of the pandemic, Cross Community Service Center (CCSC) was founded to address the challenges left in its wake. The pandemic had deeply impacted health, education, careers, and emotional well-being of us, leaving a large population of international students and local youth feeling isolated and uncertain.
The founders of CCSC, who had been international students from Ivy League universities, understood these struggles firsthand. While their journeys were marked by the joy of being admitted by top universities, they also faced challenges: cultural adaptation, resource constraints, underrepresentation, and the hurdles of navigating professional life in a foreign country where sponsorship and opportunities were limited. Similarly, Philadelphia local communities grappled with economic hardships, educational inequities, and emotional wellness crises.
In addressing the adversities, and inspired by the shared faith and the biblical call to “Love your neighbor as yourself,” the founders envisioned a space where people from diverse backgrounds could uplift and empower one another. This vision became CCSC—a center dedicated to building bridges through education, outreach, and wellness advocacy, driven by the values of Love, Joy, Hope, Righteousness, and Faithfulness.
In the fall of 2024, CCSC expanded its mission and reach, growing from its roots in Philadelphia to establish a new presence in Boston, bringing its transformative programs and community-driven approach to even more individuals in need.
This year, CCSC continues to grow its mission, and is dedicated to serve more youth and young adults through international programs and local partnerships.
